follow me with RSS!
For those of you that are inefficient, you may not know about RSS. Instead of having news, blogs, and website updates come to you, you waste your time searching for them.
Every tech savvy person knows that if you don’t use RSS feeds, you are missing out. So, I would like to highlight this resource and make sure that you learn to start using it.
Basically, you subscribe to a RSS feed by clicking on this button that you see on many websites and blogs. It is also integrated in Firefox and Internet Explorer (you see this logo at the end of the address bar). You have to use a reader that accepts this feed and places it in your subscriptions.
The best one out there in my opinion is Google Reader (if you don’t have a Google account by now, you are in the dark ages!). Other sites include Newsgator, Bloglines, and Netvibes.
Once a website is placed in your subscriptions, you will get a notification when that website is updated. This will give you a one place where you can get all your news, so that you don’t have to keep going to each individual website and see what content is updated. A more extensive explanation can be found here.
